In my experience, students and their parents are extremely un-sophisticated when it comes to borrowing for college, and there are several fallacious reasons for this.

While browsing on the Internet tonight, an article title caught my eye: Student Loans Are Your Friends. “Since when?” I asked myself as I clicked on the link.

I received phone calls today from two families who placed college loans with this bank last year, and they informed me that this bank now says that they “no longer participate” in college lending. What happened to the sense of public responsibility that was expressed last year??
